relax not the loaded as in a loaded gun with rounds.. loaded here i am referring to being in a state of having more than needed amount of money. i’m sure from young we all wished that we are loaded. from innocent young hopes of having money to buy your favourite toys and games to more mature hopes of having money to explore the world and starting a small business, we all might have think of what we could use with those extra money. well, obviously i have recently give it a thought as well. so assuming, all debts and loans and daily expenses are settled, if i have still a mountain of money, i would do numerous stuff. take note, these are not arranged in any order.
if i am loaded, i would travel the world. kind of common, yeah i know. i really really wish to travel the world. experience different lifestyles, taste different cuisines, meet different people, enjoy different climate and weather, do activities one cannot do in homeland Singapore.
if i am loaded, i would make sure my parents do not live one day worrying about what to eat and could eat whatever they love. come on, parenting do not come with a guide book. what they did is probably the best they can offer. this is probably the minimal way to repay them aside from spending quality time with them often.
if i am loaded, i would do charity. no, i will not throw cash to an organisation that takes care of less fortunate people. i will spend the money to travel to places with people who need help and entertain them and help them. i got to say this motivation is entirely due to the OCIP trip way back when i was in secondary school. helping those poor village kids in Chiang Rai is really an enriching experience.
if i am loaded, i will get myself a sports car. well, no those high end one.. just a standard one. the reason i include this here is because i see car as not a necessity. i see it as a luxury good. house is more important.. haha.
if i am loaded, i will take every good/best friend i know whom i really treasure and treat them to an awesome meal. well, now i can just give them my time and what not. with extra cash i will definitely show more appreciation to them.
so many “if” and hope.. haha. well wishful thinking with happy thoughts is good for the mind at times i guess. let’s strive to achieve being rich anyway.
another day well spent. a Monday with good company watching a really good movie that i will be talking about later. as i usher in the Tuesday of my recess week, i know i have to start bucking up and revising my school work. the pile of work undone is too damn high. how sad.. almost every time i update about my life, it will circle around school work. ohh well.. inner peace. so anyway, i shall review couple of shows and the movie i caught earlier. yeah, as promised, i will be reviewing on the two shows that just ended last weekend.
the first one is "The Mentalist"..
well, its plot is not entirely original. most of the plots are similar to any typical crime dramas. the only thing that is slightly unique is the mentalist.. obviously. he acts as a consultant and give advices based on his intuition and good observation skills. now and then, he would use cool techniques to seek out guilty souls and crack cases. in the first six seasons, there is one main plot.. that is to seek out the notorious killer known as Red John. the seventh season is sort of an encore season to feed its fans' demand.
so, my personal thoughts? i personally love this show. probably because i don't watch many kinds of investigation kind of stuff. furthermore, i love the casts. their acting are pretty decent. character development wise is good as well. the entire plot really take you to occasional roller-coaster rides as well. especially the seventh season, towards the second half of it, you will be sent to an emotional roller-coaster ride like not other in previous seasons. some might find it good but others might not really like it. shan't spoil too much.. but the ending was decent as well though it could be slightly better. so.. conclusion is i would really recommend anyone to watch this series. seven seasons and the series has ended.
the second on is "Two And A Half Men"..
yeah, as you can see. there was a change in casts somewhere in the middle but the standard of the show somewhat remain the same as well. generally, there isn't big plots in the series and each episode is filled with unique jokes. jokes that are sexist, sick, and many more. it is hardly possible to find an episode that don't send you laughing at least once.
so, my personal thoughts? i choose to believe that i have an open mind when it comes to jokes. so i think the show might not be suitable for those who gets easily offended by simple bias jokes in any way. besides that, i find that the series consist of really original humour in a sense. not too lame or too much.. just right. the plot of each episode is clear.. not as if each period or 20 minutes is just flooded with random jokes. so.. conclusion is this would be a good medicine to bad days and weeks. they will send you laughing for sure weekly. of course, over-sensitive people might not like it though. twelve seasons and the series has ended.
moving on, earlier today, i caught the third instalment of "Ah Boys To Men". this time the focus in on a special intake known as the Naval Diving Unit. i know a distant friend who is in it and i have quite a deal of respect for him for i know the training there isn't anything like i go through in the Army. the frogmen are tough. tough training. tough regimentation. all and this show further proof so.
well, personally i think this instalment is way better than the last two, maybe because they did not try to split this into two parts this time. yeah the duration might be long but it wasn't draggy like the last two. lots of action and interesting scenes. real eye-opening for a person not from there. as usual, Jack Neo films tend to have narration and i think this show have too much it though. despite so, the plot and character development were pretty well done. worth your time and money.

first few days of CNY is over. really hectic past few days travelling around Singapore doing visiting and what not. you know your dad is old when he prefers you to be drive throughout the CNY visiting period. so yeah.. the car recorded we travelled 150km in the last three days.. lol don't ask man don't ask.
so anyway, really glad to finally sleep in and rest today. was glad with my "gambling" skills too lol.. lost a lot after two days but somehow managed to get back what i lost and won a little more. cannot be too greedy in such stuffs.. so yeah shall keep whatever i have for now lol.
today is chilling at home. tomorrow is chilling with friends. day after? back to shit.. haha so much work waiting for me to do. i just realised i have 5 essays to cough out.. two of which is group work so still not that bad. suddenly it feels as though i am back in my upper secondary school days when i was taking core literature. the amount of essays we need to write came in mountains. gosh.. now studying statistics, i still need to write so many essays. haha well to be fair those essays aren't exactly from my core modules so whatever.. damn electives.
so last week brought two of the dramas i have been watching to an end. no, not end of season but end of the series. now i have a really big empty hole in my life lol.. on the other hand, i can review on them the next time i update this blog.
it is a topic that can be really “touchy” and sensitive to many. it is a topic that few scientists and doctors can really. it is a topic that involves your true feelings. it is a topic that invites dozens of different perspectives and takes.
here is my take.
love is something really special and unique. love is something that words can probably assist in explaining a small part of it. love is honesty. love is defined by one’s feelings. anything else similar will just fall under passion. passion that’s it. love lasts and sticks for long. passion is like a firework, the spark and brightness last temporarily.
let’s talk passion. actually many people would have use other terms to relate to this aspect. crush. eye-candy. infatuation. admiration. call it whatever you like but i would say all those i mentioned are similar. so i am just going to call all of them a form of passion. when you experience such passion, you might just want to be close to the person or be like the person. anything that happen between you two, be it simple exchange of words or what not, would send your heart rate increasing for a moment. you will feel rather happy that you are actually talking to her/him. you would like to see him/her. you would want that positive image of him/her to be in your head forever. nonetheless, such a feeling would fade with time and distance and after several meetings with more new people in your life.
let’s talk love. this is many levels deeper compared to passion. when you love someone, you would definitely think of him/her when you just wake up and before you head to dreamland. when you love someone, you don’t just take his/her positive qualities, you appreciated his/her flaws as well. when you love someone, you embrace his/her qualities and what not. when you love someone, you want to be there to make him/her happy and not just to please your eyes or for affection. when you love someone, you need not talk to him/her all the time but you won’t mind taking time off from your busy schedule just to be with him/her. when you love someone, all your troubles and worries will cease to exist when you two hang out. when you love someone, you two fight battles together more than you fight with each other.
i am no expert. i’m not a psychologist nor a doctor. i’m not cupid. these are my take. yes, i experienced both before. yes, i get confused about my feelings now and then as well. i just hope that you know what you are experiencing when the time comes. you heart speaks feelings while your brain speaks rationality. so decide when the time comes. no one but you control your heart and brain.
with that said, just remember passion is just like a firework. it can be really fascinating but its beauty last for a while. also, love is something way deeper. it will be rooted in your soul and be part of you no matter what happen thereafter. all the best and may you all not be as confused as i am at times haha.
pretty glad the past school week was over. my last day of school every week this time wasn't exactly great but ohh well. so thankful it is the weekend now.. another two more day of lectures and tutorials before CNY and recess week begins. university doesn't give chance. the amount of assignments and what not need to be done over the next 10 days or so is insane. those aside, i shall aim to really treasure time spent with my family during this festive season.
school related stuff aside, the tickets to Lindsey Stirling's performance in MBS have finally reached my hands. counting down to the 3rd of March right now. really cannot wait to go to my second live concert ever. which was my first? well, here is a hint..
yeah, Taylor Swift. haha.. went to that last year June during here Red Tour to Singapore. the picture is her during the recent Grammys. really nice blue dress. haha.. regarding the Grammys, i find it rather interesting actually.. though not all songs fit my taste. it was awesome to really listen to the different genres and what not. it was my first time watching the entire show anyway. that gone, next up is the Oscars. for that, i have watched since couple years back. it is something not to be missed i say.. especially if one is a huge fan of films and movies.
anyway, on the topic of movies, i have recently watched a really good one as well. the song from its credits was posted in the previous blog post. the movie is "The Judge". go watch it. highly recommended by me. the build-up and storyline were awesome. characters were well developed as well. there was appropriate humour on and off throughout the show as well. hope you all will enjoy it as much as me. heartwarming show.
sitting on a fence is good at times. having a fair distribution of for and against arguments when debating a controversial of subjective topic is good. nonetheless certain questions and topics require just simple answers.. simple answers of either “yes” or “no”. situations that require either of those answers should not be answered with a shrug or saying “anything”.
“do you mind eating here?” and the common answer might be “anything”. well, no. you either don’t mind or mind eating at the chosen place. there isn’t in between.
“want to hang out tomorrow?” and the common answer might be “see how”. well, hell no. you either say you want or not.. don’t leave the person who prompted the question hanging. this will make him/her difficult to decide if he/she should wait for your answer or what not.
“want try this?” and the common response might be a shrug. well, no. again, you either want or don’t want. no shrugs. no sitting on the fence.
so people, there are situations and questions where they are just that simple. you are just expected to answer “yes/no” of “want/do not want” or “mind/ don’t mind”. let’s make everyone’s lives easier. don’t give vague unconfirmed answers. of course, don’t go further and no give an answer at all.. that might just be being an asshole.

anyway, i think it was like 10 to 15 years ago when such places are really popular and probably the best place for a kid to be in. back then, there weren't Universal Studios nor Wild Wild Wet and what not. that was the time when i started to love the music played. those happy happy music and little of techno and dance kind. well, here are few of them. haha.. time to feel nostalgic.

personally, i love such talks. such talks work both ways for sure. you tell me some and i tell you some. of course, i only have such talks with people whom i am really familiar with. a certain level of trust is needed. sorry, i am super picky when it comes to choosing close friends, that’s me not having much faith in humanity in general lol. anyway, back to the point of me loving such talks then..
well, i love such talks because at times we would discuss about random life issues. it is really fun and enriching to know various points of views of a common topic now and then. also, it is really soothing to actually tell what you really feel about certain issues and what not as well. of course, some people require a little dose of alcohol to get themselves into such a mood. what ever sails your boat man. however, as for me just start such talks with me at 2am onwards.. i will last the entire night haha. random thoughts and random heart talks are great once in a while.
into the 4th week of the second semester today then. tutorials have of course been filling my timetable. time to catch up on the lectures. assignments and what not are easing in as well. deadlines draw close. workload piling. free time is becoming more rare. nonetheless i still always push time out of my day to really relax and chill.
well, 4th week but somehow i still feel that my engine isn't exactly warm. my heart refuses to really work very hard and what not. my heart prefers to take it easy as of now. i don't know if i should start worrying or not.. for i don't like doing last minute work, be it last minute revision or last minute rushing of assignments. ahh, ohh well.. hope i get my shit together real soon.
the Super Bowl 49 has just been played earlier today. it is American football. not exactly a fan but i still follow it now and then. good thing about Super Bowl yearly is the advertisements. there sure to have drama and movie teasers or trailers shown throughout the world. remember back in the beginning of the 21st century, there existed a show "Heroes"? then after five seasons, it got cancelled. couple of seasons weren't exactly nice but yeah. point is.. it is coming back. take a look. i'm excited.
