yes this is an update of my life.
happy Friday. happy Friday the 13th. happy end of elearning week. happy end of week 8. now you have slightly more than a month's time before you face the final exams of this semester.
well, my last day of "holiday" wasn't exactly much.. not much work done but at least i managed to meet up with my academic mentor earlier this afternoon for a nice chat. okay, for the benefit of others unsure of what is this.. well, basically NUS has each students attached to an academic mentor.. i'm guessing all of them are full-time teaching staffs and/or professors.
so i only started contacting him after more than one semester because i was faced with a recent dilemma. i wasn't sure if i should pick up a second major during my course of study and so i weigh all costs and benefits out. despite listing them out, i was still unsure and so i went to find him. in the end, he gave me more than just valuable feedback. he's a statistic professor if i did not remember wrongly. we talked about my options and my goals in studying here and what not. to top it off, he even asked me questions pertaining to a module i'm taking.. yikes. better revise my core modules before meeting him next time lol.. half the time i stoned.
haha okay.. in all seriousness, i'm glad we have each such academic tutor. at least you know there is someone way senior than you to give you valuable feedback and what not.

illogical workload
yes this is an update of my life.
so elearning week is coming to an end. hold your tongues if you are about to say "so good, got holidays". if you don't, you deserved to be smashed against the wall or try having elearning week in NUS. personally, while i like the idea of choosing what i want to study and revise whenever i like and not turn up during specific timeslots for classes, the amount of work they give us is insanely illogical.
5 days of weekdays make up a school week. however, if you were to sum up all the duration of online lectures and amount of time needed to do each assignment, you will realise that the amount of time required is way more than the amount of time we usually spend in classrooms and lectures. yeah, you may argue that outside of curriculum, one is expected to revise as well. yes, true, nonetheless even adding say 3 hours a day might not allow you finish all. this results to your play or chill time to be reduced by a significant amount of time.
yeah.. mixed feelings for elearning week but if one thing NS and first semester of university has taught me is at times.. just really suck it up and do. few more years to graduation.. i can do this.

secrets for you
for me, when it comes to friends and secrets, there are many categories. if you are my certain kind of friend, you deserve to know certain secrets only. okay, to begin with secrets are for my good and best friends only. i don’t entertain normal friends and acquaintances with my dear stories. yeah, call me old-fashioned or conservative or what-not but that’s how i roll.
secrets can be in form of many kinds.. love life, something you did to someone that you feel guilty about, family problems, emotional struggles. the list goes on and on. well, i believe you are smart enough to know what i mean. anyway, i’m sure you would keep secrets of your own as well and of course, you would not share them with anyone and everyone who knows you by your looks and your name.
well, if you are a friend who have heard of practically everything in the list listed above, you are probably what i see as a best friend who is dear to me. nonetheless, if you are a friend who have heard at least one of those, you are also a treasured friend. understand that secrets are secrets for a reason. not all secrets should be shared with all whom i treasure.
on top of that, for some noob friends out there that i might have, secrets mentioned to you do not give you the right to use it as a blackmail or what not. if you are guilty of doing so or something similar, shame on you. i’m not dumb. i hold the virtue of trust really seriously. of course in second chances as well. one time to many, i would know that i have trusted the wrong person.
