my stars

yesterday's post was pretty negative. then again i realise everything has its own good and bad. so today i'm going to show the good. with international football matches happening, there are fewer football matches to follow worldwide, unlike those normal weekends where there are millions of leagues and many games per league going on. so in other words, those playing for their country are of good standards. some star players i love are not in EPL and so this is the time that i really can see my stars. let me show you.

1) Fabregas (Spain)
he is my favourite playermaker and attacking midfielder in the world of football. i can't usually see him play for he is in Barcelona (Spanish League) during the weekends. he was from Arsenal (EPL) though and in fact, he was part of the reason why i started to support Arsenal (EPL) six years ago and the main reason i support Spain when it comes to any country cup competition. love to see him controlling possession and setting up great attack movements with his unselfish play. side note, google his image and you might realise he looks a bit like Zachary Quinto.. haha just shorter.

2) Giroud (France)
i started to notice him a lot ever since his arrival to Arsenal (EPL) a couple of seasons back. this striker started quiet but sure improved a lot and up his level in recent months. love to see his calm composure in front of goal and finish well. though heading is not his best talent, i love his footwork.

3) Ozil (Germany)
when i started supporting Real Madrid (Spanish League) i already see this playermaker and winger as a huge potential. sadly that club could not make full use of him but thank goodness he left one of my supported club to another.. yes he is now in Arsenal (EPL). love to see him setting up goal chances for his teammates, scoring, timing his run so he would not be called for offside.

4) Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal)
again, this guy is playing in Real Madrid (Spanish League) on normal weekends. so during internationals, i can really see him play without much other games to follow. this guy's commitment to football and charity is remarkable. i think this nice guy, and probably David Beckham, is well known to non-football fans and girls for he is rather active in the mass media as well. that aside, i really like to see his unstoppable freekicks and heading shots. hardly anyone can beat him in the air.

okay, that's enough football talks for these two days. funny how those legends i love each are from different countries. anyway, i promise to post something nothing related to NS or football the next time i update, which is like probably tomorrow or Monday.

damn i realise i blog a lot when i'm on MC or off or leave. :)

stupid internationals

i just realise that the last time i MC for wisdom teeth surgery and now, there is something in common. both period the weekends do not have any EPL matches or any league matches for that matter. this is all thanks to the FIFA World Cup international qualifications. not say i'm a big fan when players play for their mother countries but it is just less exciting until it really reaches the FIFA World Cup season. the next one will be about 235 days or so in Brazil.

besides that, having internationals mean players are prone to be injured and the clubs they play for might suffer quite a bit. having internationals mean the matches are really played in odd hours. in Singapore time, they play around 2am or 3am most of the time. i support Spain international football but one cannot expect me to stay up to such odd hours to watch all the time.

nonetheless, thank goodness for free online highlights to watch and catch up on their performances when i wake up.

football aside, my cheek seem to be less swollen from the surgery. hopefully i can go out come tomorrow. staying at home 24/7 is shit.
