today's off day from the old and boring Seletar Camp was pretty food-filled. however, i would like to focus on the dinner trip with my platoon mates earlier this evening. we went to Kiseki Japanese Buffet Restaurant all the way at Somerset/Orchard area for dinner. i'm not here to talk about how nice the food is or how much fun i had eating and chilling with the awesome platoon mates. i'm here to talk about a social stigma.
yes, you read it right. social stigma. and this is the action of taking photos of food.
relax people, i know a lot of you are guilty of doing so but please take note that i do not refer to all of you. okay, i shall clarify the fact that i'm okay with people taking photos of their food that is sitting on their table in front of them right before one enjoy his or her dish. capturing your nice meals are like capturing pictures with your friends.. for memory sake. i'm okay with that.
what i'm not okay with is something i saw a couple of times today at that restaurant's buffet spread. there were a few people walking around the spread with their camera taking photos of the food up-close and as a group before they head over to take the plates to take their food. well, that sure left many other consumers pondering if they should let them take or just act as though those "cameramen"to finish taking. my point here is, while taking photos of your food is alright with me, i find doing to that extent and hindering many others is way overboard. seriously, if you want that, just head over to the restaurant's website and download snapshots of the dishes. i'm sure they have tons of it.
