to be honest, i am not a big fan of alien movies. reason being i think that having aliens on earth is more unrealistic than having ghosts here. furthermore, many alien movies sent me go disappointed in the past but not this one. the movie is "District 9".
the plot is about an alien spaceship that parked above Johannesburg in 1982. humans tried to established contact with the alien race and what not. soon over the course of 20 years, some people and the alien population are living on the area known as District 9. now, scientist and military troops are looking to relocate them due to the rising rate of protests and what not.
i was first drawn to this movie when i looked at the amount of money involved. it only took about US$30million to make and its gross revenue is about US$210million. this is crazy. plus, numerous friends said this film is rather unique and so i finally gave it a try. indeed, no regrets. the way the film dictate the storyline is rather interesting. plus, there are numerous heart-warming scenes in the second half of the movie. the ending was pretty touching and awesome. somehow, the director lets you think of your own ending.
